Portuguese broadcaster, RTP, has announced today in a press conference the 16 artists and songs that will compete in the veteran contest, and Portuguese national final for Eurovision, Festival da Cançao 2020.
Eight participants will compete each semifinal, on February 22th and 29th at RTP studios (Lisbon). Four will advance to the final with the votes of a jury and public (50/50).
Semi-final 1 - 22/02/2020:
- Ian Mucznick – “O dia de amanhã“
- Elisa – “Medo de sentir”
- MEERA – “Copo de gin”
- J.Jazz – “Agora”
- Throes + The Shine – “Movimento”
- Bárbara Tinoco – “Passe-partout”
- Blasted – “Rebellion”
- Filipe Sambado – “Gerebera amarela do sul”
Semi-final 2 - 29/2/2020:
- Luiz Caracol & Gus Liberdade – “Dói-me o país“
- Cláudio Frank – “Quero-te abraçar”
- Kady – “Diz só”
- Dub.lo feat. +351 – “Cegueira”
- Elisa Rodrigues – “Não volte mais”
- Judas – “Cubismo Enviesado“
- Jimmy P. – “Abensonhado”
- Tomás Luzía – “Mais real que o amor”
The final, with eight participants, will be held on March 7th at Elvas, border city with Spain. The winner,and Portuguese representative in Rotterdam, will be chosen by a jury from the seven regions of the country and the SMS votes.
Each show will have diferents hosts:
- Tania Ribas de Oliveira and Jorge Gabriel: first semi-final
- José Carlos Malato and Sonia Araujo: second semi-final
- Filomena Cautela (ESC 2018 host) and Vasco Palmeirim: Final
