Tornike Kipiani becomes Georgian representative in Eurovision 2020 after win Georgian Idol

Tonight, New Year's Eve, Georgia, has its representative for Rotterdam after the final of Georgian Idol 2020, the talent show used as Georgian National Final: Tornike Kipiani.

This artist has been the winner in a final that he fight against another three candidates: Barbara Samkharadze (second place)Tamar Kakalashvili (third place) and Mariam Gogiberidze (fourth place)

Tornike, voting favorite during the last five weeks, was the candidate with more options to get the ticket to represent Georgia in Eurovision 2020.

Finalists of Georgian Idol 2020:
  • Barbara Samkharadze“This Is Me” (Keala Settle) (31,18%)
  • Mariam Gogiberidze“Writing’s On The Wall” (Sam Smith) (16,62%)
  • Tamar Kakalashvili“White Flag” by (Bishop Briggs) (18,38%)
  • Tornike Kipiani – “Love, Hate, Love” (Alice in Chains) (33,82%)
The song of Tornike, elected internally by Georgian broadcaster, will be unveiled later

In the Interval Act the Tamar Kakalashvili‘s Gori Girls’ Choir, has performed a Christmas Medley. Mariko Lezhava, former Georgian Idol and Georgian Nacional Final 2017 participant has been another guest.

Although the final choice was done by the public (calls, SMS and Facebook Messenger), will there are a jury, formed by  David Aladashvilli (pianist and host of musical contest Ranina), Natia Todua (Unser Lied für Lissabon) and Tinatin Berdzenishvilli (General Director of Georgian First Channel 1TV ).

The show was aired from Tbilisi Big Concert Hall (Tbilisi), and hosted by Ruska Makashvilli, starting at 18:00h CET (21:00h Georgian Local Time).
